Increasing
Penalties for Riding Against the Flow of Traffic
Nowadays,
there are many motorcycles on the road, but they are ridden
against traffic rules. This may cause injury or
death. Riding against the flow of
traffic is dangerous for ourselves and others. Some
Thai people are shameless to do
it. Hence, if we increase penalties, it may reduce many
accidents derived from
riding motorcycles in our province or country.
First
of all, present penalties is very weak. To elaborate, riding against the
flow of traffic is fined 2,000-5,000 baht and imprisoned
3 months or less.
Most people choose to be fined and to avoid
imprisonment. Moreover, the penalties
are not strong enough. Hence, motorcycle riders are
not afraid of the penalties and
they always do it. There are many new riders do this
too. For example, I interview
10 friends person about riding against the flow of
traffic and the results are that 8
persons do it because it spends less time than going
to a U-turn. So, a little time is
saved by riding a motorcycle against the flow of
traffic. Besides, 2 persons who
cannot ride motorcycles think that it is not good to
ride incorrectly.
Another
major reason is that riding motorcycles against the flow of traffic can
cause serious accidents. This can make us lose our family members.
Members are
injured or died because of their own careless
behaviors or others’. It is not good to
hear that our family.
Consequently,
we should support stronger penalties which can reduce
accidents and damage. We should campaign new
penalties. In addition, fine should
be 50,000 baht with 1 year imprison. After being
free, the riders be trained about
traffic rules for 3 months. Not only the police but
also everybody should keep an
eye on the riders riding against the flow of traffic
by video recording, remembering
their license plates, and reporting police.
In
conclusion, If the new penalties are stronger than the present ones,
the accidents will decrease and our lives will be
saved. We have to support
the campaign for serious punishment for people
riding against traffic laws. What are
you waiting for? Let’s campaign to increase
penalties for riding against the flow of
traffic.

Advantages
and Disadvantages of Freshmen Orientation.
Freshmen is activity arranged by
sophomores, juniors, and seniors at the
beginning
of the academic year in universities. There are many activities for
freshmen
to participate including sports, social activities, various games, live
music
and other performances. In reality, this action has both advantages and
disadvantages.
There are many advantages freshmen orientation.
Firstly, the freshmen
can
learn everything in their universities advised by seniors. It is necessary for
them
to know the history, general information, administrators, staff, teachers,
buildings
and rules of university. Secondly, the freshmen can find new friends
and
seniors who can help them do the activities with joy. Moreover, it can
promote
unity among students. Thirdly, learning how to behave properly in
university,
such as dressing contacting with officers and driving in the
university
are also guided. Many important things can be learned from
seniors
this activities. If the freshmen do not join the activities, they do not
know
various things about the universities and they may behave
inappropriately.
On the other hand, the freshmen have
some disadvantages. For example,
the
freshmen do not have time for personal activities because they spend most
of
their time for the activities. Moreover, there may be disagreement between
the
freshmen and the seniors. This may cause violence among the students.
Furthermore,
some activities are arranged taking good of teachers and
administrators
danger, like doing activities at the beach, waterfall,
forest,
etc. Besides, the students have to play a lot of money if they do activities
outside
the universities. Because both the freshmen and the seniors are in the
same
age range, they will be in great trouble when dangerous things happen. If
someone
is died, it will be a great sorrow to everyone joining the activities.
In conclusion, there are both for
agree and against the freshmen
orientation.
Each university is different and arranges different activities for their
freshmen.
However, benefits always come along with drawbacks. It depends on
our
decisions whether to join the activities or not.
